Jobs — Public vs Uploaded
How Careers organizes jobs into two separate feeds — Public (curated by Mapademics) and Uploaded (added by your team) — and when to use each.
Jobs — Public vs Uploaded
Careers separates jobs into two sidebar items, because the two kinds of jobs behave very differently:
- Uploaded Jobs — the postings your team adds directly. Fully editable.
- Public Jobs — the postings Mapademics curates for your organization. Read-only.
This page is the orientation. Each kind has its own dedicated page for the day-to-day mechanics.
How they differ
| Uploaded Jobs | Public Jobs | |
|---|---|---|
| Who creates them | Your team, from inside Careers. | Mapademics, on your organization's behalf. |
| What you can do | Add, edit details, edit or re-extract skills, delete. | View, match against applicants, click through to the source posting. |
| What you can't do | — | Add, edit, or delete from inside Careers. |
| Sidebar item | Uploaded Jobs | Public Jobs |
| Route | /jobs | /public-jobs |
| What's in the feed | Whatever your team adds. | Determined by your contract with Mapademics — typically scoped by region and sector. |
Both kinds contribute to every applicant's Jobs tab — matches are computed across the union of both lists.
{% hint style="info" %} Use Public jobs to widen the field, Uploaded jobs to track your own pipeline. If your team is sourcing for a specific employer, an Uploaded job lets you keep that role in your workspace independent of whether it's part of the public feed. If you need to override a Public job's fields, add an Uploaded job for the same role — the Uploaded one is what your team controls. {% endhint %}
Why this is split
Public Jobs is a feed that updates outside of your team's control. Mixing it with Uploaded jobs in a single editable list would have invited accidental edits and made the toolbar lie about what's possible — Add Job, Bulk Actions, and the row-selection checkbox column only make sense for jobs your team owns. The split keeps each list honest: Uploaded Jobs offers everything you'd expect from an editable workspace, and Public Jobs strips its toolbar down to the read-only view.
The same Source distinction still applies on Employers — see the Employers page — because employer records often span both feeds (an employer auto-created from one Public job that your team has also created an Uploaded job for).
Where to go next
- Uploaded Jobs — adding, editing, and bulk-processing jobs your team owns.
- Public Jobs — browsing the curated feed.
- Employers — the employer side of the workspace, which still combines both kinds.
- Matching applicants to jobs — how matches are computed and read.
Matching applicants to jobs
How job matching works on an applicant's profile — filters, score interpretation, per-job breakdowns, and labor-market context.
Uploaded Jobs
Manage the jobs your team adds directly into Careers — adding them, editing details and skills, and bulk-processing job descriptions.
